Former Big Brother Naija star, Nina Ivy, recently expressed her strong disapproval at Ilebaye, one of the housemates in the ongoing ‘All Stars’ season of the show, for age-shaming her co-housemate, Ceec. The altercation between Ilebaye and Ceec occurred after a Saturday night party, resulting in Ilebaye receiving two strikes and Ceec facing punishment.
During the heated verbal exchange, Ilebaye, in an attempt to demean Ceec, boasted about being only 22 years old. However, Ceec fiercely retaliated, reminding Ilebaye that at 22, she had already accomplished a lot and was already a qualified lawyer, having been called to the Nigerian bar.
Reacting to Ilebaye’s jest on Twitter, Nina took a stand to berate her for age-shaming Ceec, who is 30 years old. She pointed out that she herself participated in the reality TV show at the age of 21 and managed to make it to the finals. Nina emphasized her own achievements, showcasing that age should not be used as a means to demean or belittle someone’s accomplishments.
Furthermore, Nina made it clear that she didn’t make it a mission to engage romantically with all the guys in the Big Brother Naija house during her time on the show. Instead, she remained loyal to one person, Miracle, until the end of the season. By highlighting her own experience, Nina suggested that Ilebaye’s bragging about being 22 and trying to age-shame Ceec lacked a credible basis.
The incident involving Ilebaye and Ceec has sparked discussions among fans and viewers of the show, with many expressing support for Ceec and acknowledging the importance of valuing individuals based on their achievements and character rather than their age. Nina’s defense of Ceec serves as a reminder that age should not be used as a weapon to undermine someone’s accomplishments or worth, and that true character and achievements are what truly matter.
Nina tweeted,
“Its ilebaye age shaming Ceec 4 me,wel I ws 21 when I entered Bbn , gt 2 finals , I wasnt kissin all the guys in d house atleast I stayed with one till d show ended , I didn’t need Bbn All stars to patch up my brand, I worked on my brand and it’s still standing strong . Girl bye”
